Dr. John Plastow is currently serving Academy Christian Church in Colorado Springs as the strategic ministries pastor and as an executive coach and strategic and creative consultant to churches, having recently completed 25 years in local church ministry in Northern California and Northern Colorado. Through his consulting, John wants to help churches become more effective and calm the chaos of ministry. John is an adjunct member of the faculty at Oklahoma Wesleyan University, Tabor College, Southeastern University, Point Loma Nazarene University, West Liberty University, Newman University, and Bryan College, teaching courses relating to organizational leadership, business ethics, strategic planning, and a variety of courses pertaining to church ministry and leadership. For over thirty years, John has been a featured clinician and conference presenter throughout the country and has published a wide variety of dramatic musical scripts for most gospel music industry publishing companies. Most recently, John has been published in academic circles for ethics and organizational practices and in the popular press for leadership.
John holds a bachelor of arts degree in music and theatre arts from the University of Redlands, ministry credentials from Evangelical Church Alliance, a master of science degree in organization and management with a specialization in leadership from Capella University, and a doctor of strategic leadership degree (DSL) from Regent University.
John’s passion is leadership, including investing into the lives of future leaders. John’s desire is to be a servant leader who uses his strengths, gifts, abilities, personality, and experience with passion, authenticity and integrity to pour his life into helping other leaders achieve great things for the kingdom of God beyond their wildest dreams.
He and Karen have been married for 38 years and have three fabulous children: John, Melody and Heather.
