| 1967 | John wrote his first play (age 9), a melodrama titled “Fatman Saves the Day.” |
| 1969 | John produced his first musical (age 11), an adaptation of “Winnie the Pooh and the Honey Tree.” |
| 1979 | John graduated from college with degrees in both church music and theatre arts, married Karen and began working at the Crystal Cathedral. Soon after, production consulting with churches and Christian schools began. |
| 1987 | John presented his first display and workshops at MUSICalifornia. The main question he was asked was “Do you have scripts?” |
| 1988 | Plastow Publications debuted at MUSICalifornia with 12 scripts and expanded into Christian bookstores. John began presenting workshops at music conferences across the country and presented Plastow-produced premieres at various conferences. |
| 1992 | The Plastows relocated to Sacramento and stayed for 18 years. Development of “Broadway-style” Christmas musical theatre scripts and productions began using First Covenant Church of Sacramento’s “An Evening In December” as a model. Over 30 general and seasonal sketchbooks were published and production resources were developed. |
| 2008 | John felt a calling to devote himself to investing in future leaders and began by enrolling in a Master of Science program in organization and management with a specialization in leadership at Capella University. |
| 2010 | The Plastows relocated to Greeley, CO to begin a new chapter of ministry at Greeley Wesleyan Church which included the development of a comprehensive worship and creative arts ministry and the premiere performances of “Christmas Lights,” GWC’s own Christmas outreach event. |
| 2011 | John was honored at MUSICalifornia as the recipient of the Creative Arts in Ministry Award. |
| 2012 | John completed his M.S. degree with a 4.0 GPA, graduating with distinction and a member of the President’s List. He also became a research and teaching assistant for Dr. Kay Davis at various universities.
Greeley Wesleyan Church’s Christmas Lights reached a new attendance milestone – 5,000 people. John became an adjunct member of the faculty for Oklahoma Wesleyan University teaching business leadership and ordination cross-training courses. |
| 2013 | Greeley Wesleyan launched its Concert Series featuring Sandi Patti and Lincoln Brewster in the first two concert events. |
| 2014 | John began his Doctor of Strategic Leadership studies at Regent University.
John became an adjunct member of the faculty for Tabor University teaching business leadership courses. |
| 2015 | Launched consulting practice Church Work Solutions. |
